About Our Athletes
There are currently 70 registered athletes in Arnprior participating in 9 sports year round. The health benefits individuals receive from sport and recreation programs are widely known. Participation in physical activity promotes balance, co-ordination, body control and improves total physical fitness.
Is Special Olympics For Everyone?
In order to be eligible for participation in Special Olympics, an individual with an intellectual disability must agree to observe and abide by the SOC Sports Rules and the Special Olympics Ontario Code of Conduct.
Individuals of all ages and all abilities can train and compete in Special Olympics. Athletes train and compete against athletes of similar ability level.

How To Register As An Athlete?
After reviewing the Sports offered by the Arnprior Club, determine the sport(s) in which you would like to participate, then simply attend a Registration Night or contact the Club Registrar. You can also contact the Head Coach of the sport to ask specific questions about the program, the contact information for each Head Coach is listed on the Sports page.
How Old Do I Have To Be To Join?
Throughout the year, athletes young and old between the ages of 8 - 88 participate in weekly training programs in local facilities.
Please note:
Registration Information sport season will take place in September. And the Spring Sport Season takes place in May.

When Are Your Sport Training Programs?
Most of our sport training programs take place during the evenings and weekends. Most competitions are held on weekends.
Is there a cost to participate? What If I Can’t Afford It?
NO ATHLETE SHALL EVER BE DENIED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN WEEKLY TRAINING OR COMPETITION OPPORTUNITIES BASED ON LACK OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES.
